INSTALL FOOTBALL MANAGER PRE-GAME EDITOR

The Football Manager Pre-Game Editor is a powerful tool that allows the user to modify the FM database in a number of ways. The Editor is available on Steam, Epic Games and Microsoft Store.

Steam Microsoft Store Epic Games Store

  • Open the Steam App and from the top menu bar, select ‘Library’ and then ‘Home'.
  • Select the ‘Games’ dropdown and ensure that ‘Tools’ is ticked.
  • This will show all game tools within your library. Navigate down to Football Manager, and you should now see Football Manager 20XX Editor.
  • Select the Editor and hit ‘Install’ on the app page.
  • This will bring up a Steam pop up box, confirming the disk space required and estimated download time. Hit ‘Next’, and then ‘Finish’.
  • Once downloaded, select ‘Launch’ to open the application.

BACK UP GAME FILES

We strongly suggest having auto save enabled weekly or fortnightly, with ‘New File for Each Auto Save’ so you always have a recent backup of your save. If you find you have a large number of backup saves, you can manually delete them from the file location shown below.

You can change your auto-save settings via the in-game preferences at any point. Bear in mind, auto save will save at the time period set by the user from the last time you saved. If you manually save at any point, the auto save clock restarts.

All your Football Manager game files can be found in the following location by default:

Windows macOS

C:\Users\[Your Username]\Documents\Sports Interactive\[Football Manager title]\

INSTALL UPDATES

Most updates of this nature should download automatically but if yours doesn’t, simply quit and relaunch Steam or the Epic Games Store to prompt it to do so. If you’re playing via the Windows Store or Game Pass, you may need to manually search for the update.
