How to add leagues when starting a new game?
You can decide what leagues you want your save game to start with. To do so, go to the start screen and click ‘Start a new game’ -> ‘Career’ -> ‘Advanced Setup’ -> ‘Add/Remove Leagues’ to add additional leagues.
You can run multiple nations and leagues in any save game. The number of nations and leagues you will be able to handle will depend on how powerful your PC/Mac is.
In addition to the existing leagues in Football Manager, you can create your own nation and league via the Pre-Game Editor. If not, you can download community-created nations and leagues, too.
How to add or remove leagues in a save game?
During a save, you have the option to ‘Add/Remove Leagues’. To do so, navigate to ‘Options’ (the FM logo in the top right corner) and click ‘Add/Remove Leagues’.
Leagues are added/removed on the given league update day of that nation, which varies for all nations in game. Generally, it will be between the end of a given season and the start of the next one. Upon the league being activated, a large group of newgens will be created to account for the lack of players in said leagues when they were inactive.
In addition, when creating a save or adding leagues, you will have the option to select ‘View Only’ instead of ‘Playable’. ‘View Only’ means that you will be unable to play in that league. But the rules of a league will remain functioning, such as being able to view matches/results but without the active players being generated for the league in order to keep database size lower. You can change a ‘View Only’ league to ‘Playable’ with the above method.
