WHAT IS THE HIGH TIDE UPDATE?
The High Tide update will be a free update to all Total War: PHARAOH owners! Dark sails on the horizon tell of the coming storm. Drive the Bronze Age Collapse by playing as one of two new playable factions from the Sea Peoples culture with a host of new features. The ruthless Sherden strive only to destroy and sacrifice while the Peleset are on the warpath to establish a new homeland. Dominating the battlefield using the new horde style of gameplay, you can turn the tide and become part of the Bronze Age Collapse. Find out more in January 2024.
WHAT PLAYABLE FACTIONS ARE AVAILABLE?
The base game will contain ten playable factions from four diverse cultures. Eight are currently already playable, and two more will be added for free in January 2024.
- Egyptian: Ramesses, Seti, Tausret, Amenmesse
- Canaanite: Bay, Irsu
- Hittite: Kurunta, Suppiluliuma
- Sea Peoples: Iolaos (Sherden faction), Walwetes (Peleset faction) – available as part of the High Tide free update in January 2024.

Total War: PHARAOH is available for PC and Mac on Steam and costs: £29.99 /$39.99 / €39.99.
WHY HAS THE PRICE OF PHARAOH BEEN REDUCED?
We reduced the price of Total War: PHARAOH as we think this is a fairer cost of the game for players. For anyone who has already purchased Total War: PHARAOH through Steam for the original price, you will get an automatic partial refund from Steam directly. For anyone who has purchased through any other store, please refer to the information below for further details.
HOW DO I OBTAIN A PARTIAL REFUND FOR MY DIGITAL PURCHASE FOLLOWING THE REDUCTION IN PRICE?
Partial refunds for those purchasing Total War Pharaoh prior to date/time have already been issued by participating retailers to eligible customers.
HOW MUCH SHOULD MY PARTIAL REFUND BE?
The partial refund is the difference between the price you paid at time of purchase for your preferred edition and the updated price being offered by your retailer on the Total War: PHARAOH Standard Edition. The total amount of the partial refund varies by edition, retailer, purchase region and currency.
WHO ARE THE APPROVED RETAILERS?
In addition to Steam and the Total War Store, partial refunds are being offered by:
- 2Game, DLGamer, Fanatical, Feral Interactive, Gamesplanet, GamesforPC, Gamebillet, Humble Store, Wingamestore for purchases in the Americas, Europe, Middle East and Africa.
- 2Game Bahamut, CE Asia, Heybox, H2, SWT and Epicsoft retail partners for purchases in Asia.
WHAT IF AN APPROVED RETAILER IS UNABLE TO ISSUE A REFUND?
In the unlikely event that an approved retailer is unable to issue a refund, SEGA will provide alternative compensation. We are aware this may affect a very small number of customers from the Asia region but should not apply in most cases. Please contact the SEGA customer support team with your purchase details and we will offer the choice of an additional Total War game.

WHY IS THE DLC BEING CANCELLED?
Instead of following through with original plan to deliver the paid DLCs roadmap, we are focusing on providing a more complete core experience for Total War: PHARAOH through free content updates and improvements focused on new cultures and expanding the campaign map. We strive to make PHARAOH as best a Total War experience as we can and will continue to work towards fulfilling its vision. For this reason, we will cut back on DLC development right now and focus on updating the core game. Everybody who had purchased the Deluxe or Dynasty Edition will be provided with a partial refund. Please refer to the above information about the refund process.
WHAT FUTURE CONTENT WILL BE MADE AVAILABLE?
We want to make Total War: PHARAOH as engaging as possible and will continue to add updates throughout 2024 to improve the experience. One plan that we’ve always had since the early stages of development on Total War: PHARAOH is to expand the size of our campaign map as a free update, and to introduce even more factions and cultures to the game. We’ll have more to say, and to show, what that looks like in the new year after the High Tide update releases.
Alongside that, we aim to add new features to the game that we know some players have been asking for, and others that we think will make the Total War: PHARAOH experience even better, such as: Mortality & Succession for faction leaders, New mechanics alongside the new cultures and territories (Royal Traditions, Legacies, Court), improvement to battles and unit variety, and more.
We greatly appreciate the input of the community and plan to reach out to you more often in the process of development, to listen, consult on decisions and draw inspiration trusting that this collaboration will result ultimately in the game we want to make and play.
