Why does the 'An error occurred while updating Football Manager 2023 (unknown error)' error message keeps appearing when downloading Football Manager 2023?

If you see the “An error occurred while updating [Football Manager title] (unknown error)” error message when downloading Football Manager. In that case, it is likely that your system is below the system requirements.

In some instances, this can be resolved by simply upgrading the Operating System on your device.

If you’ve encountered the above error message on PC, it is likely an indication that your system is below the system requirement to play Football Manager 2023.

We suggest you check whether your system meets the FM23 minimum system requirements.

Suppose your system is in fact below the minimum system requirement. In that case, you will likely need to upgrade the hardware to play Football Manager 2023.

 

We’ve changed our Mac’s minimum specifications for FM23. You’ll need to have a macOS of 11 or later to run, that means Big Sur, Monterey or Ventura. There’s a list of systems which Big Sur is supported on which can be found here (https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT211238).
