Immortal Empires DLC Ownership Guide

What is Immortal Empires?

Released on the August 23rd 2022, Immortal Empires is a grand-scale campaign mode for Total War: WARHAMMER III that combines the landmasses, Legendary Lords, war units and more from the Total War: WARHAMMER series into one colossal mode, offering the most complete and definitive Warhammer strategy experience ever!

If I only own WARHAMMER III, can I access everything in Immortal Empires?

Ownership of WARHAMMER III grants you access to the Immortal Empires campaign, plus the base races and Lords included with WARHAMMER III at launch, specifically:

  • Daemons of Chaos
  • Grand Cathay
  • Khorne
  • Kislev
  • Nurgle
  • Slaanesh
  • Tzeentch
  • Warriors of Chaos (Be'lakor)

How do I access the races not included with WARHAMMER III when I'm playing Immortal Empires?

There are several races available in Immortal Empires that are unlocked if you own Total War: WARHAMMER, Total War: WARHAMMER II or the numerous DLC released for both titles. These purchases are not required to play Immortal Empires, but are required to unlock some of the playable races and Lords.

For example, purchasing Total War: WARHAMMER grants access to every race and Lord present in the base game (including the Empire, Greenskins, Dwarfs, etc) when playing Immortal Empires.

Please note: content is only accessible if owned on the same game client i.e. STEAM, EPIC, or MICROSOFT/GAME PASS.

Am I able to buy DLC for Total War: WARHAMMER or Total War: WARHAMMER II to access a specific race even if I don't own the main game they were released for?

Yes. DLC for these games can be purchased regardless of whether you own the game they were originally released for, and will unlock any associated Lords in WARHAMMER III.

For example, if you want to play as the Vampire Coast in Immortal Empires, you need only purchase the Curse of the Vampire Coast DLC for WARHAMMER II, which you can do without having to own the WARHAMMER II base game.

How can I access previously released free DLC for use in Immortal Empires?

Ownership of any free DLC is tied to the ownership of the races that said content belongs to.

So for example, if you’re looking to add Imrik to your roster of heroes, you need to purchase either the WARHAMMER II base game or just the WARHAMMER II DLC The Warden and the Paunch, both of which included this Legendary Lord of the High Elves.

On the other hand, to acquire the Bone Giant DLC unit you must purchase the Rise of the Tomb Kings campaign pack from WARHAMMER II in which they are included.

A complete list of available races, units and Lords can be found below.

Any free content associated with any race included in content you have purchased will be automatically added to your account. Other free content that is granted to you via your CA Account remains unchanged.
