How to remove caches and/or preferences folders in Football Manager?

Sometimes we'll request you remove your cache and preferences folders as it may be the cause of an issue. We'd recommend moving these files away from their current location and into a 'new' folder you can create on your desktop. That way if this does fix the issue, we may ask you send us the folders so we can fix whatever caused the issue initially.

Please make sure the game is not open before following the instructions below.

Windows macOS

    1. Click ‘File Explorer’ from within the taskbar (or click ‘Desktop/Start’ then type in ‘File Explorer’)
    2. On the header click ‘View’ and make sure above ‘Show/hide’ that ‘Hidden Items’ is ticked
    3. Navigate to C:\Users\[Your Windows Username]\AppData\Local\Sports Interactive\[Football Manager title]
    4. Move the Preferences and/or Cache folder to your desktop, so they no longer appear in the Football Manager folder

Don't worry, the cache and preferences folders are completely unrelated to your save games. Upon removing these folders, new ones will be regenerated when you launch the game. The next time you launch the game, remember to change any preferences you wish to have changed (such as auto saves, sound level or game display mode).

If the above instructions couldn’t resolve your issue, please submit a support ticket and our team will try and help you.
