INSTALL FOOTBALL MANAGER PRE-GAME EDITOR
The Football Manager Pre-Game Editor is a powerful tool that allows the user to modify the FM database in a number of ways. The Editor is available on Steam, Epic Games and Microsoft Store.
- Open the Steam -> ‘Library’ -> ‘Home'
- Select the ‘Games’ dropdown and tick ‘Tools’
- This will show all game tools within your library. You should now see [Football Manager title] Editor in your library list
- Select the Pre-game Editor and click ‘Install’
- Open the Microsoft Store and from the main search bar, type [Football Manager title] Editor.
- From the search results, choose the Pre-game Editor you need and click ‘Get’ to begin the download.
- Once complete, the Editor will now appear in your library to launch for both the Microsoft Store and PC Game Pass versions of the game.
- Open the Epic Games Launcher and select ‘Library’ from the main sidebar.
- For ease, sort the library by ‘Alphabetical A-Z’, and untick any pre-selected filters on the right-hand side.
- Scroll down to ‘F’ in the list and select [Football Manager title] Pre-Game Editor.
- This will bring up an Epic pop-up box, asking you to confirm the install location. It must be installed in the same location as the game itself, which by default is in your C: Drive.
- Select ‘Install’
BACK UP GAME FILES
We strongly suggest having auto save enabled weekly or fortnightly, with ‘New File for Each Auto Save’ so you always have a recent backup of your save. If you find you have a large number of backup saves, you can manually delete them from the file location shown below.
You can change your auto-save settings via the in-game preferences at any point. Bear in mind, auto save will save at the time period set by the user from the last time you saved. If you manually save at any point, the auto save clock restarts.
All your Football Manager game files can be found in the following location by default:
C:\Users\[Your Username]\Documents\Sports Interactive\[Football Manager title]\games
Users\[Your Username]\Library\Application Support\Sports Interactive\[Football Manager title]\games
By default this folder is hidden, so to access you need to do as follows:
- Open Finder
- Click ‘Go’ from the menu bar
- Press and hold down the ‘Option’ (Alt) key
- This will bring up the ‘Library’, click to enter
- Go to ‘Application Support’ > ‘Sports Interactive’ > ‘[Football Manager title]’
INSTALL UPDATES
Most updates of this nature should download automatically but if yours doesn’t, simply quit and relaunch Steam or the Epic Games Store to prompt it to do so. If you’re playing via the Windows Store or Game Pass, you may need to manually search for the update.
