GAMEPLAY FAQ's & KNOWN ISSUES
ACADEMIC YEAR
If it looks like you are losing loads of money at the end of each Academic year. It is probably because you have set a large number of events to “repeat yearly”.
If it’s causing too much trouble and financial ruin, cancel the events at the start of your next year, and book them on a more ad-hoc basis.
The design team is having a think about the best way to tackle this one to keep players informed of this.
ACHIEVEMENTS
For an Achievement or Trophy to unlock you usually need to be connected to the internet.
If you have not taken your system offline and you are playing on a stable home network, you can try the following to help.
- For a milestone achievement such as obtaining stars, try to complete another star which can nudge things along.
- If it is amount or progression based, try to meet the criteria again in Sandbox mode so that you can keep track of the progress. There are settings in Sandbox that you can change to give yourself ample funds/course points to aid with this.
NPC's
Sorry! We completely understand the frustration with this one.
We're doing everything we can to fix this issue, but the difficulty is that differing factors can cause the NPCs to get stuck.
At this time the only sure fire way to remove a stuck student or visitor is to restart the level from the beginning.
Some players find that selecting the student and forcing them to do something else (such as go to private tuition) can help, but this is not 100% effective.
Another potential workaround is to place a room over a student as this makes them jump back to a hallway, potentially helping them find their path again.
We will continue to work on this issue, so if you have any additional information that might help, such as if there is a 100% reproduction rate or common factor in your stuck NPCs please let us know by using our support request form.
REQUIRED ROOM FOR OBJCETIVE
Unfortunately the only known workaround for this bug is to restart the level from the beginning. It usually occurs if the game crashes at the end of the first academic year, as the room unlocks.
UPPER ETCHING
When playing on Upper Etching, you may be thinking that your money at the end of the month doesn’t match your profit report. Don’t worry, you’re not going mad!
The Upper Etching Bonus works differently to other campuses because you are paid £2k every time a student levels up, rather than receiving a lump sum at the end of the month.
This means your monthly report shows the total you earned over the month from each student as they gained experience.
We’re looking into making this clearer, but if you have any questions, please submit a support request.
